Description
Why Choose the 2tWilliam Hackett WH-BC Fixed Jaw Super Beam Clamp
The William Hackett WH-BC Fixed Jaw Super Beam Clamp is a premium heavy-duty beam clamp engineered to provide a secure overhead anchorage point for hoists, lifting equipment, chain blocks, and rigging assemblies. Designed, developed, and extensively tested in the United Kingdom, the WH-BC combines robust construction with industry-leading safety standards, delivering dependable performance across demanding lifting applications.
Suitable for Working Load Limits (WLL) from 2 tonnes to 15 tonnes, the WH-BC is designed to fit a wide range of structural steel beam sizes, providing a fast, reliable method of creating a temporary or permanent lifting point without welding or drilling.
Its innovative fixed jaw design incorporates reinforced gussets within both jaws, significantly increasing the contact area between the clamp and the beam flange. This enhanced grip improves load stability while reducing localised stresses, making the WH-BC one of the most secure beam clamps available for industrial lifting operations.
Manufactured in accordance with BS EN 13155:2020 + A1:2009 and ASME B30.20 Chapter 6, every clamp is proof load tested to 2 times its Working Load Limit and built with a 4:1 safety factor, ensuring confidence during critical lifting tasks.
Heavy-Duty Beam Clamp for Safe Overhead Suspension
The WH-BC Super Clamp is specifically designed to create a safe suspension point for lifting equipment installed beneath structural steel beams.
Commonly used to suspend:
- Chain hoists
- Lever hoists
- Electric chain hoists
- Lifting pulleys
- Rigging assemblies
- Temporary lifting points
- Maintenance equipment
A heavy-duty shackle fitted to the underside allows rapid connection of lifting equipment while maintaining excellent load alignment.
Unlike beam lifting clamps, the WH-BC is intended solely for beam attachment and must not be used for lifting structural beams.
Enhanced Grip with Reinforced Fixed Jaw Design
A defining feature of the WH-BC Super Clamp is its reinforced jaw construction.
Integrated gussets within both clamp jaws maximise contact with the beam flange, delivering:
- Increased clamping force
- Improved grip security
- Reduced movement under load
- Greater stability during lifting
- Enhanced long-term durability
The simple hand-tightened adjustment enables quick installation while maintaining reliable clamping performance across numerous beam sizes.
Designed for Demanding Industrial Environments
Engineered for continuous professional use, the WH-BC performs reliably across a broad range of industries.
Typical applications include:
- Construction sites
- Steel fabrication workshops
- Manufacturing facilities
- Heavy engineering
- Oil & gas installations
- Utilities infrastructure
- Maintenance operations
- Industrial plant shutdowns
- Mechanical installation projects
With an operating temperature range of -20°C to +120°C, the clamp remains suitable for both indoor and outdoor industrial environments.

Safety & User Instructions
- Ensure the beam clamp is installed only by trained and competent personnel.
- Confirm that the supporting beam has adequate structural capacity before installation.
- Fully hand-tighten the clamp onto the beam flange before applying any load.
- Do not use the WH-BC beam clamp for lifting or transporting structural steel beams.
- Observe all Working Load Limit reductions when loads are applied at angles up to 45° from vertical.
- Model WH-BC2 (2 tonne) is not suitable for side loading.
- Never exceed the stated Working Load Limit or apply shock loading.
- Inspect the clamp, shackle, threads, jaws, and body before each use for signs of wear, distortion, corrosion, or damage.
- Remove the clamp from service immediately if any defects are identified.
- Carry out routine inspections in accordance with applicable lifting regulations and manufacturer guidance.
