Description
Dale PEM Heavy-Duty Adjustable Lifting Beam
The Dale PEM Adjustable Lifting Beam is a robust and adaptable lifting beam designed to safely lift a wide variety of loads with changing lifting centres. Unlike fixed lifting beams, the PEM incorporates two adjustable lower attachment points, allowing operators to quickly alter the lifting position to suit different load sizes, centres of gravity and lifting configurations.
Available in Working Load Limits from 1 tonne to 6 tonnes with standard beam lengths from 1 metre to 5 metres, the PEM provides outstanding flexibility for workshops, fabrication facilities, engineering plants, manufacturing environments and construction sites where varying load dimensions require a configurable lifting solution.
Manufactured without load-bearing welds and finished with a durable hot epoxy coating, every beam is designed and produced in accordance with EN 13155, supplied CE marked, complete with an EC Declaration of Conformity and comprehensive operating instructions.
Adjustable Load Centres for Maximum Versatility
The defining feature of the Dale PEM lifting beam is its adjustable lower lifting points.
Each lifting point slides along the beam profile and is securely locked into position using heavy-duty steel locking components. Adjustment is made in 100 mm increments, enabling operators to quickly configure the beam for different lifting centres whilst maintaining safe load distribution.
This flexibility makes the PEM ideal for lifting a wide variety of machinery, fabricated steelwork, structural components, equipment, precast concrete units and bespoke loads with varying centres of gravity.
Designed for Safe, Balanced Lifting
The PEM lifting beam is designed to distribute lifting forces evenly across the load whilst reducing bending stresses and improving overall lifting stability.
When correctly configured, the beam should remain horizontal throughout the lift, with lifting forces acting vertically through each lower attachment point. Adjusting the lifting centres to suit the load geometry helps maintain balance and reduces the risk of uneven loading.
Each lower attachment point is fitted with a shackle hole suitable for attaching compatible lifting accessories including shackles, swivel hooks, chain slings and webbing slings.
Heavy-Duty Construction
Manufactured from high-quality structural steel, the PEM lifting beam is built without load-bearing welds to maximise structural strength and long-term durability.
A hard-wearing hot epoxy coating protects the beam against corrosion and industrial wear, making it suitable for demanding workshop, factory and outdoor lifting environments.
The beam is suitable for operation within temperatures from -20°C to +100°C.

Safety & User Instructions
- Always adjust both lower lifting points to suit the load’s centre of gravity before lifting.
- Ensure both adjustable lifting points are fully secured between the steel locking components before use.
- Confirm the beam remains horizontal throughout the lifting operation.
- Ensure lifting forces remain vertical through both lower attachment points.
- Never exceed the stated Working Load Limit (WLL).
- Select lifting accessories with sufficient capacity for the most heavily loaded attachment point.
- Ensure the load is capable of withstanding lifting forces and bending stresses.
- Never attach more than one lifting component to each lower attachment point.
- Never lift loose or unsecured loads.
- Do not use the lifting beam for lifting personnel.
- Never stand beneath a suspended load.
- Inspect the beam, locking components and all lifting accessories before each use.
- Operation should only be carried out by trained and competent personnel in accordance with current lifting regulations.
